Stewed Apple

Stewed apple is a good food for gut healing and a delicious addition to your breakfast bowl.

Peel and core 3 Bramley apples and cut into largish chunks.  Put in a large saucepan with just a little water to cover the base of the saucepan along with a drizzle of maple syrup.  Cook with the lid on until the apple is soft but still in chunks, this only takes minutes, so keep an eye on it otherwise you get apple sauce before you know it!  I like to serve stewed apple with natural yoghurt, berries and nuts - delicious for breakfast or a mid afternoon snack.
